Great question, Queen. If you don’t have a yoga or stability ball, no worries at all. You can still get the most out of your session! Depending on the movement, here are a few alternatives you can try:

A sturdy pillow or folded blanket can provide some support for seated or balance-based movements.

A foam roller (if you have one) can work for certain exercises that involve light support or stretching.

A wall or sturdy chair can also be used for balance or modifications when needed.

The most important thing is to move safely and comfortably. Some women may see weight gain at the start, especially if they’re building muscle or coming from a lower-activity lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean they’re not making progress. Your body may be changing in powerful ways that aren’t always reflected immediately on the scale. The goal here is long-term wellness, not quick fixes — and shrinking isn’t a requirement to start showing up for yourself.

To get started, we recommend having a set of light (5-8 lbs), medium (10-15 lbs), and heavy (20+ lbs) dumbbells, depending on your current strength level. For resistance bands, a variety pack (light, medium, heavy) is ideal so you can adjust based on the workout and targeted muscle group. This combination will give you the flexibility to progress and challenge yourself as you get stronger.
